Similar pilgrimages [to Lezajsk - PC], but on a much smaller scale (200-300 people), are made to the ohel of David Biedermann (1746-1814) in Lelow (the most convenient route from Cracow is through Skala and Wolbrom). The first impression is one of shock as the ohel is in a converted storage space which was once part of a shop in ul. Ogrodowa (the key is available from Mr Roman Filewski who lives at ul. Ogrodowa 7). The synagogue, which during the Communist era was turned into a workshop for the co-operative of the disabled, these days performs religious services, although only on certain occasions. It is situated on the other side of the ohel at ul. Ogrodowa 3; the key is with Ms Wojcik, ul. Nadrzeczna, phone +17 3550109. The anniversary of the death of David of Lelow falls on the 7th day of Shevat. All of the furnishings necessary for conducting prayer are then brought to the synagogue and removed after the service.
